Kate Sikora rounds out our client service team with a focus on “all things insurance.” She handles applications, policy changes, and any administrative questions regarding insurance contracts. “It takes a lot of communication to do my job,” she says as she reflects on what is needed to be successful in her role. “I like to keep clients updated on the status of whatever it is they are anticipating. As applications go through processing, I let our clients know every step of the way.” Kate is also quickly learning more about the investment side of our business to add other ways to assist clients.
Kate, who is concurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, had to get out of her comfort zone when she started with LaRoche Wealth Management. Not having worked in financial services before, she had to navigate interacting with corporate offices, speaking with underwriters, and she had to learn the technical details of insurance contracts – all of which she did with flying colors.
Despite her relatively young age, Kate has already experienced financial advising from the other side of the table – as a client! Not long after graduating from high school, she decided to start saving for retirement, opened a brokerage account and purchased a life insurance policy. “I’ve always felt much older than my years, and after hearing my brother speak with a financial advisor, I thought it made good sense for me to have one, too,” she explains. “I thought, I want to have a good life, and I want my future kids to have a good life, so why not start now?”
That wisdom, combined with an infectiously warm personality, and the drive to succeed keep Kate on track as she continues to explore her future path in life. In the meantime, she is a valuable member of the team, appreciated by colleagues and clients alike. Kate loves the closeness of everyone at the firm, and the opportunity to learn directly from highly experienced mentors. “We are dedicated to setting each other up for success,” she says.
A native of northern New Jersey, Kate is happy for all the opportunities Virginia Beach offers to enjoy the outdoors. To unwind from work and school, she tries to spend as much time as possible outside. Often, that includes paddleboarding with her dog, Cairo.
